This etching went through eight states before being editioned for the first time, in 2008, as Road. Its reworking in two further states in the following year saw the addition of dark clouds, rain and a bare tree – alterations that clearly gave the image a seasonal character. In its ninth state, the work was retitled Winter, and after being taken through a tenth and final state it was printed in a second edition.
