- This etching was begun in 1989, as The sea, and went through nine states before being editioned, for the first time, in 1990. Amor returned to the plate in 1995. Giving the print a new title, The sea II, he reworked the image substantially as he took it through four more states, replacing the dramatic contrasts of the first edition with effects evocative of a more eerie and fantastical atmosphere.
